Early Decision Financial Aid Review

We know affordability is a central question. That’s why Reed created the Early Decision Aid Review.

In every admission round, Reed’s commitment is the same: we meet 100% of demonstrated financial need. And with the Reed Promise, families earning less than $100,000 receive free tuition or more. With Reed’s new Early Decision Aid Review, you and your family can receive an estimated need-based financial aid package by November 1—giving you clarity and confidence as you take this important step.

Each year, about 95% of admitted ED students affirm their agreement and enroll at Reed, confident in both their choice and their aid.

How It Works

  1. Submit a formal (EDAR) request.*
  2. By October 17, submit your Reed application for fall 2026 through the Common Application or the Coalition Application.
  3. By October 17, submit the required financial aid documents (CSS Profile and IDOC).
  4. If all deadlines are met, your aid estimate will be sent by November 1.
  5. If the estimate works for you, you can then switch your application to Early Decision or keep your Early Decision Application—knowing what support you can expect from Reed.

*EDAR is currently available to U.S. citizens only.
